Greetings, dear meows!
Happy Valentine’s Day! I just wanted to post up these two dishes that I made for myself earlier this week to not only showcase the use of my Mystic Seasonings spice blends in Magick Bayou and Curry in a Hurry, but to also inspire you meows to make some sexy and delicious meals for yourself and the ones you love most. I don’t know about you, but food us absolutely my love language and what better way to show how much you care than creating yumminess that is sprinkled with lots of thoughtfulness and of course… TLC.

With everything being so topsy turvy these days, dining out at a restaurant has become quite a different experience. And creating your own types of celebrations at home has become a new routine for some, so planning out a nice meal for a special occasion doesn’t have to require that much hoopla and preparation, although you can make it look like it did. Whether you have a partner or not, Valentine’s Day and showing yourself some love should be happening everyday! And cooking is an awesome way to put that loving energy to good use!
I had been craving Shrimp and Grits for a while, and just went for it and made it! I almost always have a bag of frozen shrimp in the freezer, cause those puppies thaw out in under 10 minutes, and cook up even faster, so you always have a quick and easy meal in the making at the ready on those days where you just don’t wanna think too much about what to eat. When I go shopping for groceries, I try to buy those odds and ends ingredients that I can use to build on a meal craving. Andouille sausage is super tasty and freezes well. And grits are a pantry staple. Paired with my Cajun/Creole inspired spice blend, Magick Bayou, this dish turned out amazing!! For a lovely brunch or beautiful dinner, served with some Rose’ or Red wine, this dish will absolutely spice up your day or night!

The next dish I was jonesing for was Chicken Tikka Masala! My Curry in a Hurry blend has a fair amount of Garam Masala in the mix so it was perfect for this dish. Another quick and easy Mystic Meal, aside from the homemade Naan Bread, which I made form scratch cause I’m extra… 🤣 Store bought Naan is just as good and is a total time saver. I just had an itch to scratch and wanted to try my hand at baking it myself. I used boneless, skinless chicken thighs cut into chunks and marinated them in the Curry in a Hurry for about 30 minutes. I realize not everyone reading this has my spice blends in their kitchens, so I’ll be posting links to the recipes I used as inspiration for their creation. I just used what I had around to substitute for what I needed to pull it together. Peppers for the Shrimp… Onions and cilantro for the Tikka. Oh! And can’t forget the Basmati rice! Some would say that rice is life! Here are the recipe links I drew my inspo from! Adjust them as you see fit… Scale it down for one or two, double or triple them up to feed a crowd!

Let’s have another look at those sexy looking plates, shall we?

And there you have it, meows! A couple of Mystic Meals that I hope you’ll take a crack at making for Valentine’s Day or any special day or night of the year! What’s that crazy line from that song? If you can’t be with the one you love, honey… Love the one you’re with. Meaning YOU!! Make sure you give yourself back just as much love as you give to others! Happy Love Day, Happy Cooking, and Bone Apt the Teef! 🤣
Cheers, hugs, and meows!
